This is the second part of a two-part beard product review series for Beardsman Supply. The first part aimed at reviewing their “Dirty” and “Filthy” beard wash scents, as well as their Minted and American Pine beard oil and beard balm scents. In this article, I will review the following products:
- Sunrise beard oil and beard balm
- Vintage beard oil and beard balm
- Oregon Trail beard oil and beard balm
- Whisker Wax
Disclosure: The products reviewed in this article have been given to me free of charge. I did not receive any other compensation for writing this review.
Sunrise Beard Oil
The Sunrise beard oil scent is a terrific citrus-scented beard oil. The blend contains an impressive combination of grapefruit, orange, tangerine, lemon and lime aromas. This is a great option when you feel the need for bringing a bit of summer on your beard. It smells tropical and since it contains 5 different citrus aromas, this beard oil scent is the perfect choice for citrus lovers.
This is one refreshing beard oil indeed.
Here’s the list of ingredients for the Sunrise beard oil:
Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Grapefruit Oil, Orange Oil, Tangerine Oil, Lemon Oil, Lime Oil, and Vitamin E.
Sunrise Beard Balm
The Sunrise beard balm contains the same 5 citrus aromas as the beard oil of the same scent, that is, grapefruit, orange, tangerine, lemon and lime. Just like all Beardsman Supply‘s beard balms, the cocoa butter helps bring a sweet twist. In this case, the combination of cocoa and the impressive blend of citrus gives an awesome end result.
This beard balm offers a well-balanced blend of sweet, acidic and fruity aromas.
Here’s the list of ingredients for the Sunrise beard balm:
Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Beeswax, Jojoba Oil, Grapefruit Oil, Orange Oil, Tangerine Oil, Lemon Oil, Lime Oil, and Vitamin E.
Vintage Beard Oil
The Vintage beard oil is a limited edition. This one offers an old-school kind of vibe, just like its name says. The blend contains sandalwood, rosemary and tea tree aromas. Basically, this beard oil smells like your grandpa’s cologne, and some old-school beard oils scents used in barbershops (such as Proraso or Layrite, for instance). What’s interesting with this one is the fact that you get the vintage scent without the itching of those beard oils from another era. Those vintage beard oils may smell cool and all that, but unfortunately, they are not really gentle on the skin.
Using this beard oil is nice every now and then. It smells manly, but not very modern. Unlike other “vintage” scented beard oils, this one doesn’t have tobacco or whiskey aromas, or anything of that nature. I think this is a great plus for that beard oil, since it contains no extremely strong aromas. The end result is just fine. Neither too strong nor too light. You’ll appreciate this one as long as you like cologne-like beard oil scents.
Here’s the list of ingredients for the Vintage beard oil:
Jojoba Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Coconut Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Rosemary Oil, Tea Tree Oil, and Vitamin E.
Vintage Beard Balm
The Vintage beard balm is also a limited edition. It has the same old-school vibe as the beard oil of the same scent. I will admit that the use of cocoa butter in this one gives a tremendous result. The old-style cologne aroma is predominant whereas the cocoa notes are rather subtle. This gives a unique and pretty good result. The cocoa actually helps tone down the old cologne scent. When used with the Vintage beard oil, you get a solid combination of vintage and a twist of modernity .
Here’s the list of ingredients for the Vintage beard balm:
Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Beeswax, Jojoba Oil, Sandalwood Oil, and Rosemary Oil, Tea Tree Oil, and Vitamin E.
Oregon Trail Beard Oil
The Oregon Trail beard oil contains an agile combination of floral, herbal and citrus aromas. This beard oil actually contains notes of patchouli, bergamot, lavender and tea tree. This is a nice all-around beard oil, as it contains versatile aromas. Nothing funky, nothing annoying, nothing extreme.
Patchouli and bergamot are the most predominant aromas in this blend. Lavender and tea tree are subtle yet important in the mix. Lavender helps make the oil smell better, whereas the tea tree makes it a bit woodsy.
This is a great beard oil for those who like wilder scents, but not as wild as ultra-woodsy beard oils.
Here’s the list of ingredients for the Oregon Trail beard oil:
Jojoba Oil, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Patchouli Oil, Bergamot Oil, Lavender Oil, Tea Tree Oil, and Vitamin E.
Oregon Trail Beard Balm
The Oregon Trail beard balm contains the same agile combination of floral, herbal and citrus aromas as the beard oil of the same scent. The cocoa butter does a great job here too. The cocoa aroma blends extremely well in the mix. The balm is actually a bit sweeter than the Oregon Trail beard oil. Therefore, when used together, you get the floral / herbal / citrus scent, along with sweet notes of cocoa. Quite frankly, this is one of the best combo sold by Beardsman Supply.
Here’s the list of ingredients for the Oregon Trail beard balm:
Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Beeswax, Jojoba Oil, Patchouli Oil, Bergamot Oil, Lavender Oil, Tea Tree Oil, and Vitamin E.
The Whisker Wax is great for those who wants to handlebar their mustache, or make twirls and all kinds of crazy things with it. This wax provides strong hold to help you in that regard.
The product smells great, the scent being Bay Rum. The wax texture is rather hard, and therefore may be hard to work with for beginners. The extra work is worth it though, as it will help you shape your mustache, no matter how epic you want it to be.
Here’s the list of ingredients for the Whisker Wax:
Beeswax, Jojoba Oil, Bay Rum Oil, and Vitamin E.
In this review series, I have reviewed the following products from Beardsman Supply:
- Dirty Beard Wash – A fresh and spicy peppermint-based beard wash
- Filthy Beard Wash – A fresh, cool and sweet spearmint-based beard wash
Beard Oil and Beard Balm
- Minted – An agile mix of peppermint and vanilla
- American Pine – A pine scent taken one step further
- Sunrise – Citrus at its best
- Vintage – Only the good side of old-school beard oil
- Oregon Trail – An agile combination of floral, herbal and citrus aromas

Every beard oil reviewed in this series feels great on the skin. The texture is standard and the oil applies easily on the beard.
As for the beard balms, they all contain cocoa butter, which gives various results, depending on the scent. Most of the time, this helps enhance the scents in a nice way.
