The Nordic Grooming Co. is a Swedish company that prides itself on creating handmade natural personal hygiene and cosmetics products in small batches. Among other products, this company offers beard oil, beard balm and beard soap.
This is the first part of a two-part beard product review series I will write for The Nordic Grooming Co.. In the first part, I will review 3 beard oil scents. In the second part, which will be written shortly, I will review 2 beard balm scents and 1 pine tar soap.
Disclosure: The products reviewed in this article have been given to me free of charge. I did not receive any other compensation for writing this review.
Fresh Forest Beard Oil – Pine Needles and Rosemary
The Fresh Forest beard oil scent offers a tremendous blend of pine tree and rosemary. The Nordic Grooming Co. really surprised me with that one. I was expecting a strong-scented conifer kind of beard oil, and that’s definitely not the case. The actual smell is pine needles (Tallbarr in Swedish), which is a pretty nice and pleasant scent compared to pine resin. It’s also more versatile than most conifer-scented beard oil I’ve tried thus far. The rosemary does an amazing job at bringing floral notes to the mix.
Quite frankly, this is a solid and unique beard oil blend. It can suit a wide range of tastes, whether you like floral or more woodsy scents, or even if you not usually driven towards conifer-scented beard oils, I suggest you get this one. It might be a mind changer for you.
Here’s the list of ingredients for the Fresh Forest beard oil scent:
Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Wax, Prunus Amylgdalus Dulcis Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Punus Armeniaca Kernel Oil, Persea Gratissima Oil, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Pinus Sylvestris Leaf Oil, Rosmarinus Officials Leaf Oil, D-Limonene, Linalool.
Lumberman Beard Oil – A Subtle Smell of Campfire
The Lumberman beard oil scent is a special one. As you can guess with its name, this beard oil is undoubtedly for wood lovers. However, this is one is different than the average cedarwood or sandalwood beard oil. It has a woodsy base I can’t precisely identify (maybe some tree that grows in Sweden that I’ve never heard of), and a subtle aroma of campfire. This is what makes this beard oil scent a special one.
Campfire-scented beard oil can become annoying after a while, smell strong and may not suit every occasion. The Lumberman beard oil scent is different in that regard. For me, this is yet another unique scent The Nordic Grooming Co. managed to create with great agility. This is definitely a woodsy beard oil that smells like no other on the market. It smells wild, but not too much. You must be into woodsy beard oils to appreciate that one, and if you are, this is a pretty nice one to add to your collection.

Violet Beard Oil – Who Doesn’t Like the Smell of Violet?
The Violet beard oil stole the show big time when I tried out The Nordic Grooming Co.‘s products. Okay, violet is not very manly or badass… but in terms of overall smell awesomeness, violet blew me away as a beard oil scent!
Who doesn’t like the smell of violet in the first place? I mean, this is the kind of tree everyone likes, because it smells so great.
This beard oil is quite floral and the violet aroma is strong. I didn’t notice any other aroma in this blend. Therefore, if you really like the scent of violet, you’ll get plenty of it.
Just like any other beard oil scent, although it smells pretty good, I would not use it everyday. Nevertheless, I’m pretty sure many beardsmen wouldn’t hesitate to do so.
To be continued…
This was the first part of this beard product review series for The Nordic Grooming Co.. Stay tuned for part II !
