Ruddy Man Beard Co. is an American beard product company from North Carolina founded and owned by Jimmy Atkins, who is also a Christian rock musician. Ruddy Man Beard Co. offers an interesting range of products, which includes beard oil, beard balm, beard wash, mustache wax, and their own beard comb made of peach wood.
This is the second part of a two-part beard review series for Ruddy Man Beard Co.. In the first part, I reviewed 4 of their beard oil scents. In the second part, I will review a beard wash named Ruddy Suds, a beard balm named Ruddy Balm and a mustache wax stick.

Ruddy Suds – Woodsy, Spicy and Natural all at Once
The Ruddy Suds beard wash is a woodsy and spicy beard wash with a strong base of natural soap. This last characteristic is a great plus for this beard wash, as it helps tone down the strong smell of cedarwood and pine. When you use this beard wash, of course you smell strong and spicy woodsy notes, but a smell of natural soap is very present too. Besides these aromas, the Ruddy Suds beard wash also contains balsam fir, eucalyptus and sweet orange essential oils. Cedarwood and pine are quite predominant.
The beard wash cleans very well, lathers just fine and cleanse the beard and the skin underneath with great efficiency. The fact that it contains a strong natural soap base, combined with strong notes of wood, definitely helps cleanse the scent of virtually any beard oil and balm, or even dirt, you’ve had on your beard.
Overall, this is a very solid beard wash that does a terrific job. You must be into woodsy scents to appreciate it, obviously. Don’t expect anything sweet or fruity. It’s a wilder kind of beard wash.
Here’s the list of ingredients for the Ruddy Suds beard wash:
Water, Coconut Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Palm Kernel Oil, Olive Oil, Hemp Oil, Jojoba Oil, Citric Acid, Tocopherol, Glycerin, Xanthan Gum, Essential Oils: Cedarwood, Pine, Balsam Fir, Eucalyptus, & Sweet Orange.
Ruddy Balm – Add a Touch of Freshness to your Beard
The Ruddy Balm beard balm is a great complement to Ruddy Man Beard Co.‘s rather woodsy and/or floral beard oils. Instead of creating a scent similar to that of their beard oils, they created one that enhances the end result, big time. The Ruddy Balm contains lavender, citrus and cedar aromas. It contains mild notes of Ruddy Man Beard Co.‘s woodsy signature scent, but citrus and lavender are predominant in that one.
This beard balm smells pretty good, and when used with any of Ruddy Man Beard Co.‘s beard oils, you get an outstanding combo.
The texture is awesome and does a tremendous job at shaping the beard and giving it a nice and shiny look.
Here’s the list of ingredients for the Ruddy Balm beard balm:
Beeswax, Unrefined Shea Butter, Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Essential Oils: Cedarwood, Lavender, & Sweet Orange.
Mustache Wax Stick – Easy to Use on the go
The mustache wax stick from Ruddy Man Beard Co. is pretty convenient for carrying out in your pocket and keeping your mustache hair away from your mouth. The wax is light-medium hold, which is great for adjusting your mustache and giving a hand to rebel or frizzy beard hair. Just for the record, if you want to go crazy with your mustache, making twirls, handlebars and stuff like that, you need a strong hold mustache wax instead.
That being said, this mustache wax stick is a must-have when you’re on the go. It’s compact and enables you to easily perform mustache and beard adjustments throughout the day. For instance, if your mustache starts falling into your mouth, or a stupid wave of beard hair on your cheek won’t go away, this stick can fix these issues seamlessly.
If you use Ruddy Man Beard Co.‘s beard oil, beard balm and beard wash, the wax’s scent is in the same range. The aromas are cedarwood, frankincense and bergamot. It smells pretty good in the likes of the beard balm reviewed above, and it won’t mess up the scent you get with any other product from this company.
Here’s the list of ingredients for the mustache wax stick:
Beeswax, Lanolin, Jojoba Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Essential Oils: Cedarwood, Frankincense, & Bergamot.
Ruddy Man Beard Co. offers mostly woodsy beard oil scents of great quality. I suggest you go check out the first part of this review series to read all details on the 4 beard oil scents I got the chance to review.
Here’s a quick description of the 4 beard oil scents reviewed in the first part:
- Red Wolf – An agile blend of cedar and lavender;
- Hatchet – For forest lovers;
- Godly Beard – When frankincense meets cedarwood
- Nightcap – Sit down and relax (the floral one)
I liked the Ruddy Suds beard wash’s strong base of natural soap. It helps tone down the strength of cedarwood and pine, which are two scents that can be aggressive in a beard wash. This gives a well-balanced woodsy beard wash.
As for their Ruddy Balm, it has a very nice texture, does a great job control-wise and makes my beard look nice and shiny. It also has a predominant floral/citrus scent that acts as a very good complement to the woodsy scents used in most of their product range.
Finally, the mustache wax stick is your best friend in the office or while on the go. This light-medium hold mustache wax is great for adjusting your mustache and even your beard hair. It can also make your bad beard days happier!
