Beards & Fades Beard Oil Co. is an American beard product company from Colorado. The company offers a wide range of beard products including beard oil, beard butter, beard balm, beard / body wash, mustache wax, accessories and apparel.
This is the second part of a two-part review series for Beards & Fades Beard Oil Co.. In the first article, I reviewed their Classic Man and Woodsman beard oil and beard butter. In the second part, I will review one of their beard / body wash, a beard balm, a mustache wax and two beard accessories (a beard brush and a wooden beard comb).
Disclosure: The products reviewed in this article have been given to me free of charge. I did not receive any other compensation for writing this review.
Unscented Beard Balm
Beards and Fades’ unscented beard balm has rather hard texture. Although using it can be tough a bit, it’s worth every ounce of work. The fact that the balm is hard provides quite efficient control on your beard. Honestly, this beard balm is among the best I’ve used, control-wise.
Furthermore, the fact that this beard balm is unscented is a good thing if you use it with a beard oil scent that you don’t want to be altered whatsoever. There’s a subtle aroma of coconut that comes from coconut oil. It may add a very minor coconut twist to some beard oil scents, but not enough to mess with most scents, especially strong woodsy, musky and even floral ones.
Here’s the list of ingredients for Beard and Fades’ unscented beard balm:
Bees wax, Shea butter, Coconut oil, Palm kernel oil and Sweet almond oil.
Warning from the company: Don’t forget to check for allergies!
Beards and Fades’ moustache wax comes in a convenient chapstick type. It’s easy to carry and comes in handy not just for styling your moustache, but touching up your beard too. This wax is medium hold. Therefore, this is not what you need to win funny moustache contests. Medium hold moustache wax is great however for separating your moustache from your beard by shaping it accordingly. You can use this moustache wax for handlebars, to a certain extent, but it’s best used for taking out your moustache from the rest of your beard and moving beard hair away from your upper lip. You can curve and twist your moustache (and other beard areas if you want) and even fix a wavy beard with this stick. If you think moustache wax is only for crazy moustaches, think again!
Besides it’s shaping properties, Beards and Fades’ moustache wax has a terrific scent of natural honey and is made of 100% natural ingredients, which are: Bees wax, Coconut oil and Sweet almond oil.
Eucalyptus & Lemon Beard & Body Wash
Beards & Fades’ Eucalyptus & Lemon Beard & Body Wash, just like its name says, can be used for both your beard and your whole body. I have tried it on my beard only. Therefore, I’ll give you my impressions of this product as a beard wash only.
At first, I was expecting a strong scent because of the combination of eucalyptus and lemon. That’s not the case at all.
This beard wash has a predominent natural soap scent with medium notes of eucalyptus and lemon. Therefore, when I use it, I don’t feel like I’m using a weird cleanser. I feel like I’m using a shampoo. The blend of eucalyptus and lemon adds freshness to the predominent natural soap base. As a result, you get a refreshing beard wash with a scent that’s not messed up by a combination of strange aromas.
It cleansed my beard with great efficiency without lathering like crazy. If you’re into beard shampoos that lather a lot, you might want to pass on this one. Nevertheless, speaking for myself, I don’t really care whether a beard wash lathers or not. What I care about is how well it cleanses my beard and how my face feels and smells once I leave the shower. For that matter, this beard wash has two thumbs up. It does a great job.
Here’s the list of ingredients for Beards & Fades’ Eucalyptus & Lemon Beard & Body Wash:
Organic castile soap, eucalyptus, lemon vegetable glycerin, lemon essential oil.

Other Stuff I Tried Out from this Company
Along with the products I reviewed, Beards & Fades Beard Oil Co. also sent me a boar bristle beard brush, a sandalwood comb and a lip balm. This is very appreciated. Thank you guys for that!
Let me talk a bit about these products.
Boar Bristle Beard Brush
Beards & Fades’ boar bristle beard brush comes in a cool wooden travel case. The bristles are soft. This is a good option for beardsmen with sensitive skin.
The small size of this brush makes it a good option for travellers. For 10 bucks, you get a pretty nice brush made of wood and 100% boar bristles.
Sandalwood Beard Comb
I’m not usually of fan of wooden combs, as I’m a loyal user of Kent combs. However, I must admit that this sandalwood beard comb is a pretty decent one. It’s double-sided to enable you to detangle and fine-comb your beard. The comb comes with a nice leather case that fits the pocket of your shirt or pants.
I’ll stick to my Kent comb, but I’ll sure add this beard comb to my grooming toolbox. I definitely like it!
I know, this website is about beard products, so what’s the point of reviewing lipbalm? Because the company sent me one, that’s why 🙂
I happened to use it a few times, when my lips were dry. It’s a peppermint lipbalm that smells nice and manly. It feels fresh and the quality is way more superior than a 99 cent lipbalm from the drugstore. If you order stuff from Beards and Fades, you won’t be disappointed if you add a stick to your shopping cart.
Besides the fact that their beard butter tins are a pain to open :-), I have nothing negative to point out about Beards & Fades’ Beard Oil Co.. Their beard products are all premium quality.
The Classic Man beard oil’s “Sweet Cedar” scent has a unique scent that can appeal even to beardsmen who are not usually into woodsy beard oils. And for those who are really into woodsy beard oils, they have the Woodman scent.
Beards & Fades’ beard butter’s quality is impressive and the product is very efficient for beard shaping. On some occassions, especially on “bad beard days”, this beard butter can come to the rescue.
Not only do they make beard butter, but they also craft beard balm. The unscented one I tried has hard texture, but that’s a good thing since it provides great control.
Beards & Fades’ moustache wax, which comes in a stick, is a very convenient grooming add-on you can use on the go to adjust your beard or separate your whisker from your beard.
Don’t forget to have a look at their accessories, such as their boar bristle beard brush and their sandalwood beard comb!
