Beard Product Review – Washington Apple and Bourbon Barrel Beard Oil Scents from BeardLove

BeardLove is an American beard product company from West Jordan, Utah. The company offers a wide range of beard oil scents for all tastes, as well as several totally badass custom beard combs.

In this article, I will review two of their beard oil scents named Washington Apple and Bourbon Barrel. These are two very sweet beard oil scents that smell tremendously good, as long as you’re into sweet, and I mean SWEET scents.

Washington Apple – Remember Those Toffee Apples?

Washington Apple Beard Oil from BeardLove

The Washington Apple beard oil scent smells very, very good. As soon as I smelled it the first time, it reminded me of toffee apples they sell at carnivals, but it actually smells even better. BeardLove describes the fragrance as “a combination of Granny Smith and Macintosh apples smashed together with a hint of oak.”

Based on my experience with this beard oil, it smells like apple, a lot, and quite frankly, it smells awesome. Furthermore, the fact that oak has been added to the blend is a great idea, and gives it a woodsy side. It smells so good, you’ll want to drink it ūüôā

It smells very sweet though. Some beardsmen may find this kind of scent a bit “over the top”, but for those who like sweet beard oil scents in general, you’ll definitely want this one in your cabinet.

Bourbon Barrel – Bourbon Meets Caramel

Bourbon Barrel Beard Oil from BeardLove

The Bourbon Barrel beard oil scent is a different beast, but it’s also a very sweet beard oil¬≠. The company describes the fragrance as “a sweet southern scent blend of aged bourbon with a touch of caramel”. This is exactly what it is.

The notes of caramel are rather strong, which is why this scent is very sweet. The aged bourbon helps bring medium notes of barrel wood and, and subtle alcoholic, but mostly sweet notes. This is a very nice, well-balanced blend. But again, you must be aware that it’s on the sweet side. The predominance of caramel makes it a terrific beard oil scent, but definitely a rich one.

Feeling on Beard and Skin

The fact that these two beard oils contain several high-quality carrier oils gives them a very nice texture. I found out that they gave an above-average shiny look to my beard and provided pretty good control.

Both scents are long-lasting, and can be all over the place at times, but since they smell so good, that’s no big deal.

Verdict

These two beard oil scents are among best-smelling I have used. They are both very sweet in their own style.

The Washington Apple scent can be compared to that of a toffee apple, with woodsy notes of oak. This scent is very sweet, thanks to a fragrance that contains a mix of two kinds of apples, it smells rather strong and overall, tremendously good.

The Bourbon Barrel¬†scent is another sweet one. It’s a blend of caramel, barrel wood and bourbon. The caramel aroma is very present, and combined with the woodsy notes of barrel wood and the alcoholic/sweet notes of bourbon, this makes it yet another great-smelling beard oil from BeardLove!
